Welcome back for another great WPS Half Marathon. Having just celebrated our 10th Anniversary last year we are ready for some changes! First of all, the big news is that we are introducing a 5K event. The event will start at 820am, just before Wave 2. Those runners will also be treated to a shirt, medal, chip timing, breakfast... and yes, a secret finisher gift!
We are looking forward to a new start finish area as well, just inside the East gates of the park off of Wellington. This will allow for more space and avoid conflicts with the growing zoo attractions.
Finally, with the opening of the new Winnipeg Police Services Headquarters, we see the closure of the Police Academy. So, we will be making a new kit pick up home at the St Paul's Church, located at 2400 Portage. One big benefit is that there will no longer be the parking conflicts we saw at the Academy and it is bit less of a drive out West!
