2019 Race Director Message
I would like to welcome you to the 15th Annual Foodfare-Winnipeg Police Service Half Marathon. It is hard to believe 15 years ago a team of us set out to organize a small, one off event for the Canadian Cancer Society.
We have seen many changes over the years and all had many adventures to share. When it comes to the race, we have had rain, a blizzard, and wonderful sun. We have had a runner get hit by a deer-or maybe a deer hit by a runner! When it comes to the charity, we have had great successes in raising awareness and funds but also have had great losses like our beloved Jo Schiewe who motivate us to try and make a difference in the battle against cancer.
As we close in on the $2 million mark, I invite you to join us May 5, 2019 for another special day to come out and enjoy time with family and friends and make some special memories. Keep in mind, we have sold out all 14 years, so register early! We even offer a discount all of October!
